'La Manche' in Normandy has a wealth of golden beaches and coastal paths to explore.
The many rivers meandering through the
Cherbourg Peninsula offer the opportunity of fishing, canoeing and kayaking, and the leafy lanes winding alongside the pocket handkerchief fields in the countryside are ideal for walking and cycling.. Historically and culturally rich, there is much to see and do - visit the famous Abbey at Le Mont St Michel, William the Conquerer's Tapestry at Bayeux, the D Day Landing Beaches at Utah,Omaha, and Arromanches, or the many
cathedrals and museums. |

Gastronomically superb - restaurants galore to suit all tastes and pockets. Specialities include all manner of fish dishes, but especially shellfish platters, lamb raised on the salt marshes, veal in cream sauces, locally produced Brie and Pont l'Eveque cheeses, mouth watering pastries, tarte tatin, crêpes, cider and calvados. Markets are held on almost everyday of the week selling, amongst other things, a huge of range of local produce. |
